“It’s so fulfilling for me to be the numbers behind an artist’s career,” says Catherine Moore, partner and co-founder of Farris, Self and Moore, LLC (FSM). “We’re there for it all, from touring to music videos to album releases. For a music lover like me, a live show is an especially powerful experience. I love seeing and being a part of what makes it all happen.”

Expertise, impressive persistence, and a lifetime love of music have made Catherine a trusted advisor to some of the country’s biggest touring acts and recording artists. It’s the role she was born to play, but Catherine didn’t always know she was needed in the entertainment industry. “I have always loved music, and I love accounting because it’s a puzzle––at the end of the day, you know you’ll find the answer,” she says. “When I realized I could turn my passion into a job, I started digging.” All that digging led to an entry-level position at FBMM, where she spent six and a half years working with top-tier touring and recording artists.

In 2015, Catherine joined forces with Kella Farris and Stephanie Self to launch FSM, a boutique business management and financial planning firm that specializes in the unique needs of hit songwriters and major recording artists. “I found such great partners in Kella and Stephanie,” she says. “All three of us have the desire to serve our clients in the best way possible. Just seeing these artists’ and songwriters’ dreams come true––it’s so rewarding. They need somebody to be there to help them make smart, educated financial decisions and meet their goals.”

A CFP®-certified accountant, Catherine is a member of organizations including CMA; ACM; SOURCE, for which she serves as Secretary; the Recording Academy; and more. She is also a SOLID (Society of Leaders in Development) alumna and was included in 2015’s Nashville Top 30 Under 30 class and 2017’s Nashville Emerging Leaders class, as well as the GRAMMY Next Class of 2017/2018. Catherine was honored as part of the 2018 Nashville Business Journal’s “Women in Music”. Most recently, Catherine is a graduating member of Leadership Music’s 2020 class. Moore has been honored as a Billboard Power Player and is included on the Billboard Women in Music list.

When Catherine isn’t mentoring the next generation of executives or crunching the numbers that will make an artist’s tour a reality, she’s usually spending time with her husband and their two children, traveling to new destinations or enjoying the outdoors.
